Thank you letter

LI: Write a thank you letter to a teacher or staff member.

Writing thank you letters shows your greatfulness to the person your writing to. There is always a meaning behind the thank you letter. My thank you letter was to Miss White because I was greatful she came into LS2 and helped us and did science with us.

I enjoyed this activity because it was fun writing a thank you letter to Miss white.

Respected leader

LI: To Research about a respected leader.

I created a DLO that shows why Nelson Mandela is a respected leader. I think that Nelson Mandela is a respected leader because he fought for a better world. Nelson Mandela also spent 27 years in prison. Did you know Nelson Mandela was the president of South Africa from 1994-1999?

PBS Collage

Today I made a collage about my life at PBS because it is a C.A.R.E awards challenge. My collage of my life at PBS shows what I have been doing this year as a year 8 student. The stuff I have put in my college is my class at camp, my cabin group and my class, and me presenting in front of PBS.

I enjoyed this task because it shows the stuff I have been doing with classmates.

Aretha Franklin Song Respect

LI: Research Aretha Franklin’s song RESPECT.

Aretha Fanklin was born in 25 March 1942 and 1960, where she got her first hit song when she was 18. Aretha Franklin is a singer/artist. She makes many songs, but one of the songs we are focusing on is RESPECT. The way Franklin spelled out R-E-S-P-E-C-T  was to make sure the message was loud and clear.

I found this activity diffcult because this was my first time hearing Aretha Franklins song RESPECT so I didn’t know much about it.

This week for my C.A.R.E Award challenges I did an activity which was how to stand up to bullies. This was the confidence activity. A bully is a person who either says mean things online or phically bullies you. There are different solutions to solving why this is happening.

I felt happy after making this DLO because people will know what to do if there getting cyber bullied or physically bullied.

Leading assembly Confidence CARE Award

L.I: To present at assembly

Today I was presentng at assembly. I practiced my script last night so it would give me confidence to memorize my script. When I was practing I stuttered a little bit but I kept going. Then I got ready for assembly. My job was being one of the presenters, which is calling up the leaders and the principle to speack to the school. I messed up near the end but I managed to keep on going.

I enjoyed doing this because it helped me build up my confidence by being able to present in front of the school.

Duffy Confidence CARE AWARD

Last week I did my first Duffy for 2022. First, I picked a book that I have chosen from the library. The book I have chosen was DIary of a Wimpy Kid. It was written and illustrated by Jeff Kinney . Next, Chisa and Te Raumati helped me write my Duffy script for assembly. Afterwards I practised my script before assembly so that I knew the words so I wouldn’t mess up. Lastly, I presented it to the whole school about the book I read and the escorts picked their books.
